Choosing between a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) and a B.Sc (Bachelor of Science) in Computer Science largely depends on your career aspirations and interests. BCA is more application-oriented, focusing on practical skills in software development, programming, and IT services, making it ideal for those looking to enter the tech industry quickly with roles such as software developer, web developer, and system analyst. In contrast, a B.Sc in Computer Science is more theoretical and research-oriented, covering fundamental principles of computing, algorithms, and data structures. This program is suited for those interested in research, higher studies, or specialized roles such as data scientist, AI specialist, or cybersecurity expert. If you aim for a career with immediate practical applications, BCA might be the better choice.

However, if you want you can pursue both degrees at the same time in different modes like you can pursue the B.Sc in Computer Science program in regular mode and BCA in online mode by different UGC-DEB recognized universities.
