According to the UGC notice, a student can enroll in only two degrees in the same academic year, and the modes of study for both degrees must be different. For example, one degree should be pursued online while the other is taken in a regular format. Additionally, students are not allowed to pursue two degrees at different academic levels simultaneously; they can only choose two bachelor's degrees in different honors or two master's degrees in different honors. As per the latest UGC notification, you can pursue 2 degrees at the same time in different modes. You cannot pursue 2 degrees in regular modes. However, if you are planning to pursue 1 degree in regular mode and the other 1 degree in online or distance modes, you can pursue it. You can also pursue 2 degrees in Online or distance mode at the same time.

Additionally, there are no clear regulations on whether one can pursue 3 degrees at a time or not. Moreover, it is not advisable to go for more than 2 degrees at a time as it will be very difficult for time management. For effective learning outcomes, you must not consider more than 2 degrees.

According to the recent UGC notification, it is now allowed to pursue two degrees simultaneously, but there are specific rules about how this can be done. You cannot enroll in two degree programs in regular (on-campus) modes at the same time. However, if you want to study one degree in regular mode and another in either online or distance mode, you are permitted to do so. In fact, you can also pursue two degrees at the same time if both are in online or distance education formats.

It is important to note that there are no clear guidelines regarding the pursuit of three degrees at once; therefore, this remains uncertain. Generally, it is not recommended to take on more than two degrees at the same time. Balancing multiple academic programs can be challenging, and managing your time effectively can become overwhelming. Studying for more than two degrees can lead to stress and negatively impact your learning experience.

For the best results in your studies, it’s advisable to focus on no more than two degrees at once. This approach will allow you to devote sufficient time and effort to each program, ensuring better comprehension and skill development. By concentrating on a maximum of two degrees, you can manage your coursework more easily, participate in activities related to your studies, and ultimately achieve stronger outcomes in your education. In summary, while dual degree programs are permissible under certain conditions, careful consideration is important to avoid overcommitting yourself.
