Yes, you can pursue a BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) alongside your BA in English (Hons), but it requires careful planning. Balancing two different degree programs can be challenging, as both demand significant time and effort.
One way to manage this is by opting for one degree in regular mode and the other through distance or online education. Many universities offer online BCA programs, which provide the flexibility to study at your own pace. This can help you balance the workload from both courses.
It's also essential to consider your long-term career goals. BA in English leads to careers in fields like writing, teaching, or communication, while BCA opens doors in IT and computer science. Make sure both degrees align with your aspirations.
Lastly, check with your current university and the one offering the BCA program to ensure there are no restrictions on pursuing two degrees simultaneously. Be prepared for the added workload and ensure you can manage your time effectively. But doing all these works alone will be hectic along with regular studies so, you can visit the official website of College Vidya where you can compare various government-approved universities on various preferences like accreditation, fees, specialization, and many more.

Yes, you can do it, but the question here is, will you be able to manage these two degrees in the regular mode at the same time? Thus, to avoid a stressful academic journey, you can opt for an online BCA alongside your BA program. This way, you will be able to manage classes of both courses smoothly.
Moreover, as per UGC’s guidelines on dual degree programs, both of your degrees, BA and online BCA, will be valid in the job market.

You are doing a BA in English (Hons), which is a full-time degree. BCA (Bachelor of Computer Applications) is also a full-time course. According to most university rules, you cannot do two full-time degrees at the same time in regular (offline) mode. But there is a way!
You can do one course in regular mode (your BA) and the other in online or distance learning mode. For example, you can continue your BA in college and do BCA from an approved online university at the same time. This way, you follow the rules and also learn both subjects.
Online education is flexible. You can attend classes when you have time, watch recorded videos, and study at your own speed. It helps you gain knowledge in two different fields…arts and computers. This can give you more career options in the future.
Just make sure the online BCA course is approved by UGC or another official body.
So yes, you can do BA and BCA together…but one should be online or distance mode.
