The entry requirements for an online Master of Computer Applications (MCA) are as follows;
- Candidates must have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university, most of the universities launch bridging courses for students without a technical background to acquire the necessary programming skills.
- Minimum marks of 50% are required for smooth admission in aggregate.
- Candidates must have cleared at least one paper of mathematics at the 10+2 or in the bachelor's level.
- The accreditation and recognition of the program are equally relevant to regular MCA programs, as online MCA offers flexibility, affordability, accessibility, and suitability for working professionals.

Candidates looking for admission in the Online MCA program must meet the following eligibility requirements-
- Completed a bachelor’s degree in computer applications or any discipline from a recognized university/institution.
- At least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA in the bachelor’s degree.
- Candidates who are not from a Maths and Computer Science background must be prepared to enroll in bridge courses.
- Candidates who are in their final year of a bachelor’s degree can also apply for the program.

To pursue an MCA online, most candidates will require a bachelor’s degree in Computer Applications (BCA), Computer Science, Information Technology, or a similar subject area from an accredited institution. Some universities may also entertain candidates with their bachelor's from other subject areas, provided they studied mathematics in either their high school or undergraduate year courses. Understand that some universities will have minimum percentage requirements (usually around 50%). Some will be merit-based or entrance-based as well. Before applying for an online MCA, always make sure you double-check the eligibility requirements of the universities.
