BE stands for Bachelor of Engineering. It is an undergraduate degree in engineering that usually takes 4 years to finish. This program is very popular in India and is offered by many universities, including prestigious ones like the IITs and NITs, as well as state and private universities.
The students of BE programs major in various subjects, including math, physics, chemistry, and basic engineering concepts. Most programs also include one year in which students can work in real companies to gain practical knowledge.
The requirements to get into a BE program vary from university to university, but students who have completed their 12th grades with a science stream usually qualify after passing specific entrance exams.
This is to note that BE is quite a different term from BTech, the Bachelor of Technology. Here, the most significant difference would be that while BE is more knowledgeable with practical, BTech is more practical skills and hands-on.
