According to the notice issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), students have the opportunity to request a refund of a specific percentage of their fees within 30 days of their admission. This policy is designed to provide students with some flexibility and support during the initial phase of their academic journey.

It is important for students to be aware that the refund option is only applicable within the first month following their admission. After this 30-day window closes, students will not be eligible for any refunds on their fees. This policy emphasizes the necessity for students to make informed decisions promptly after securing their admission.

The actual percentage of the fee that can be refunded varies from one university to another. Each institution has the autonomy to determine its own refund policy within the guidelines set by UGC. Therefore, students are encouraged to carefully review the specific refund policies of their respective universities to understand the exact terms that apply in their case.

In essence, the UGC's notice aims to protect students' interests by allowing them to reconsider their choices shortly after enrollment. This approach acknowledges that circumstances may change and offers a safety net for students who may find that their initial choice of institution is not the right fit for them.

In conclusion, it is crucial for new students to be attentive to the refund timelines and policies of their universities to ensure they do not miss out on the opportunity for a refund, should they choose to withdraw from their course within the designated period.

When a student goes through the process of admission and subsequently withdraws from a university, the refund policy usually depends on when the withdrawal occurs. Most universities normally allow for a 100 percent or prorated refund if a student withdraws within a certain time frame, often before classes start or during the first couple of weeks of classes. Administrative fees often are nonrefundable. Once the deadline for refunding is past, generally, a student will not receive a refund. Unless there are special circumstances involving some circumstances such as medical emergencies, with the appropriate documentation, there is usually no consideration for refunds. It would be important for a student to look for their university’s official refund policy on the university's few or the admissions office for specifics.
