Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was established in 1985 with the motive of providing higher education to all segments of society (including married women, EWS category learners, and more). Since its inception, it has been offering Online Learning (OL) programs or Open & Distance Learning (ODL) programs to students. Top accrediting bodies such as the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC) have approved IGNOU.
