Biannual Admissions and Flexibility
Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) are now allowed handle biannual admissions in July/August and January/February.
Multiple Entry and Exit Recognition of Prior Learning.
The new UGC guidelines has made provisions for multiple entry and exit, continuous formative assessment, recognition of prior learning.
Discipline-Agnostic Admissions
Irrespective of academic background and discipline of the students, they are eligible for admission in any UG and PG courses after national level entrance test.
Flexible Attendance Policies
Institutions can now tailor attendance policies to suit the needs of modern academic environments.
Credit Distribution for Degrees
Students must complete at least 50% of their total credits in that discipline and remaining 50% can be be allocated to skill-based courses.
Accelerated and Extended Degree Programs
The regulations introduce options for Accelerated Degree (ADP) and Extended Degree Programs (EDP) at the undergraduate programs.
Duration of UG and PG Courses
UG degree may stretch for 3 to y years and PG degree shall normally be either one year or two years.
