The IIMs don't officially release a syllabus for the CAT. But it is based on trends that can be extracted from past years' question papers.
Reading Comprehension and Para Jumbles are what are tested the most. Focus on inference-based RCs and sentence rearrangement.
The topic with the most weightage is Arithmetic. The next two are Algebra and Geometry. It is imperative to be extremely comfortable with Arithmetic to get a reasonable CAT score.
Generally, there are 4 sets with 5 questions in each. The sets can have a blend of Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning topics.
No, there is no negative marking for TITA questions, unlike MCQs, where people lose -1 mark for wrong answers.
Start by building strong basics in Arithmetic, RC, and Puzzles. Follow up with daily practice and timed sectional tests.
