IIT Delhi
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi is one of 23 IITs established in India to serve as centers of excellence for science, engineering, and technology education, research, and development. IIT Delhi was founded in 1961 as the College of Engineering.
It was later designated an Institution of National Importance under the “Institutes of Technology (Amendment) Act, 1963” and renamed “Indian Institute of Technology Delhi.” It was later granted Deemed University status. The university has the authority to set its own academic policies, administer its own examinations, and confer degrees.
IIT Delhi has graduated nearly 48000 students in a variety of areas, including engineering, physical sciences, management, and humanities and social sciences, since its founding. Nearly 5070 earned doctoral degrees from this group.

M.Tech IIT Eligibility Criteria
GATE scores are used to determine admission to IIT Delhi’s MTech programs. Candidates who have been shortlisted will be required to take a written test followed by an interview. In the case of BTech graduates from IITs with a CGPA of 8.0, there is no requirement of giving a GATE exam.

IIT Delhi Admission Procedure
- IIT Delhi PG admissions typically begin in the month of March.
- IIT Delhi MTech admission is based on a GATE score which is an entrance exam to determine the mindset and knowledge of the students that they get during their prior studies of science and technology. IITD also conducts its own written test and/or interview for selection in these courses.
- The candidates are required to give this entrance examination to get admission to the MTech course with greater than 300 ranks as there are only limited seats available in IIT Delhi.
- For application, you need to register on the official website of IIT Delhi and GATE COPE so that you can check the cut-off lists from there.
