M.Tech for Working Professionals
If you are a working professional who immediately started your career after completing your B.Tech degree and now desires to pursue higher education, the M.Tech for working professionals program could be an ideal option for you. This part-time course is specifically tailored to accommodate the needs of employed individuals, allowing them to earn an M.Tech degree without having to leave their current jobs. However, it's worth noting that the course is not exclusively restricted to working professionals; anyone who has successfully completed a B.Tech or BE degree can apply.
One major advantage of this program is that there is no entrance examination required for admission, including the GATE exam. The only condition is that applicants must fulfill the eligibility criteria, which include holding a B.Tech/BE degree from a government-approved university with at least 50% marks. The duration of the course is 2-2.5 years spread across 6-7 semesters respectively.

The program offers a flexible structure that blends online and offline classes, ensuring convenience and accessibility for all participants. Online classes are facilitated through the Learning Management System (LMS), where live video lectures are also recorded and stored, allowing students to conveniently access them even if they miss any sessions. The LMS serves as a virtual classroom, providing access to all relevant study materials.
For practical experiences and laboratory sessions, offline classes are conducted on the campus. The class schedules are designed to strike a balance between work and study commitments, with sessions scheduled during weekends or evenings, depending on the university of your choice.
One of the significant advantages of this program is its affordability, with the total fee ranging from INR 1-2 lakhs, making it a much more feasible option compared to a regular M.Tech program, especially for individuals facing financial constraints.
However, IIT Delhi does not offer this part-time M.Tech course. Therefore, it is crucial to ensure that you select a university that holds approvals from government regulatory bodies like UGC and AICTE to guarantee the validity of your degree. Several top universities in India offer M.Tech courses specifically designed for working professionals, covering various specializations, such as:
- Lingayas M.Tech
- SVU M.Tech
- Sanskriti University M.Tech
- BITS WILP MTech
- Mangalayatan WILP MTech
- IGNOU M.Tech
