The part-time/flexible timing B.Tech course is a B.Tech lateral entry admission course. In this lateral entry admission, the eligible students are given admission directly into the 2nd year of the B.Tech program. The students do not have to study the first year of the course. So, the total duration of the course is reduced to 3-3.5 years. The part-time/flexible timing allows students to complete the course at their own pace within this time period.

According to the eligibility conditions, the applicant must have completed a 3-year diploma in engineering (polytechnic diploma) to be eligible for lateral admission to distance/correspondence/flexible timing B.Tech courses in India. The working professionals are quite preferred for the course. The course helps them advance in their careers in the field of engineering.

No, a B.Tech degree pursued through distance mode of learning is not a valid degree as per the guidelines of UGC and AICTE. Howevre, applicants can apply for the Flexible timing programs which are approved such as Sanskriti University, Shri Venkateshwara University and Lingaya's Vidyapeeth University. 

B.Tech Distance Program is invalid. In place of a distance B.Tech program, applicants go for a flexible timing B.Tech program. Students can apply for the program after a diploma in engineering. The duration of the program is 3 years.  

 

Distance programs in engineering are invalid. However, there are many career opportunities after completing the B.Tech flexible timing program, in various technical industries.
