The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam, has released the provisional state merit list for NEET UG 2026 counselling and started the Round 1 registration process. Eligible candidates can register through the official website until August 15, 2026, up to 11:55 PM.

The merit list has been prepared based on the NEET UG 2026 scores of candidates with Assam domicile. The counselling will be conducted for 85% state quota seats in government medical and dental colleges, while the remaining 15% All India Quota seats will be handled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Who Can Apply for Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026?

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

Must have qualified NEET UG 2026
Must fulfil the Assam domicile requirements
Candidate's parents must have resided in Assam for at least 20 years
Must possess a valid Assam permanent resident or domicile certificate
Must have studied Classes 6 to 10 in schools located in Assam
Candidate's name must be included in the provisional state merit list

Assam NEET UG Counselling 2026: Fee

Candidates have to pay a non-refundable counselling registration fee of Rs 500, irrespective of their category. An additional Rs 1,000 admission fee will be applicable if a candidate is allotted a seat in Round 1.
