IIT Bombay Launches e-PG Diploma in Computer Science and AI

The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) has launched an e-Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, combining core computer science with advanced topics in artificial intelligence and machine learning. The programme is offered through IIT Bombay Educational Outreach and will be delivered by IIT Bombay faculty, with Great Learning serving as the EdTech partner. The course combines synchronous and asynchronous online classes with an in-person campus immersion at IIT Bombay.

What Does the Programme Cover?

The curriculum is divided into Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning baskets.

The AI and ML basket includes:

• Generative AI
• Large Language Models (LLMs)
• AI Agents
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Model Context Protocol
• Reinforcement Learning
• Computer Vision
• Natural Language Processing
• Deep Learning

The Computer Science basket covers Algorithms and Complexity, Blockchain, Web and Software Security, Cryptography and Network Security, and Big Data System Internals.

Who Can Apply?

The programme is designed for software developers, engineers, IT professionals and data scientists with prior computer science exposure. Fresh graduates with basic computer science knowledge can also pursue the programme.

The institute said the programme aims to provide learners with strong computing foundations alongside practical understanding of modern AI technologies. Successful learners will also receive IIT Bombay e-alumni status upon completion.
