The wait is finally over; NTA has declared the NEET UG Re-Exam Result 2026 and now all the candidates who appeared for the re-examination can go and check and download their scorecards from the official website using their application number and date of birth.

According to the official data, 11.21 lakh candidates have qualified the exam for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical courses. What is NEET UG?

NEET UG is India's national medical entrance exam for admission to undergraduate courses like MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BUMS, BSMS, BVSc and AH, Nursing and other similar medical programmes offered by both government and private institutions across the country. Basically if you want to become a doctor or get into any medical course in India, clearing NEET UG is the first and most important step.

Eligibility

All the candidates who met the NEET UG 2026 eligibility criteria, successfully registered for the exam and appeared for the re-examination on June 21, 2026 are eligible to check their results. NEET UG is open to all the students who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology or Biotechnology and English, subject to the prescribed age and other eligibility conditions.

Result Highlights

• 11.21 lakh candidates qualified the examination.
• Around 20 lakh candidates appeared for the re-exam conducted on June 21, 2026.
• The exam was held at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
• The examination was conducted in 13 languages.
• Women accounted for more than 58% of all qualified candidates.

Top Scorers

• 138 candidates scored more than 690 marks out of 720.
• 19 candidates scored above 700 marks.
• Aryan Gupta (Punjab) and Panshul Bansal (Haryana) secured the highest score of 715 marks.
• More than 93% of the top scorers were first-time NEET aspirants.
• Nearly 99% of the highest scorers belonged to the 17–19 years age group.

What Happens After the Result?

All the candidates who have qualified can now participate in the NEET UG 2026 counselling process. The Medical Counselling Committee MCC will conduct counselling for 15% All India Quota seats while the respective state counselling authorities will handle admissions under the 85% State Quota.

During counselling candidates will have to register, fill in their preferred colleges and courses, participate in choice filling and seat allotment and also complete document verification. Based on their NEET score, rank, category and seat availability candidates can secure admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes.
