Number of Fake Universities Increased

The number of fake universities is growing rapidly as per the data of UGC, the number of fake universities has increased from 20 to 32 in just the last two years, raising serious concerns about the students future and the credibility of higher education in the country.

The experts in the field of education, have shared that such institutions often attract students by promising:

  • Quick degree completion
  • Low tuition fees
  • Flexible courses
  • Foreign or international affiliations

However, one pattern which most of these institutions follow is that these institutions operate without proper infrastructure and many times without qualified faculty or academic standards.

UGC Warning to Students & Parents

The UGC has clearly stated:

  • That all those students who have pursued their education from these institutions, their degrees are not legally valid.
  • All the students who have unintentionally taken part in any programme of these universities, their degrees cannot be used for anything including use for government jobs, higher education, or employment.
  • One thing which all the students should follow is to check the official list of recognised universities on the UGC website before applying or taking any decisions.

As the admission season is now coming close, the commission has once again urged all the students and their parents to not fall for these unrecognized institutions and to remain cautious.
