Online examination is possible in engineering program

No, an Online examination isn’t possible for the engineering program. For the convenience of working professionals, engineering flexible programs are offered. However, students have to visit the campus for the exams. The reason behind conducting exams on campus is that engineering is a technical program. So it is difficult to conduct exams online.  

No, online tests are not normally allowed in India though there are a few online tests that students do have to write but this is more about normal technical degree like a B.Tech. The recent UGC and AICTE guidelines state that technical degree programmes such as the engineering are a skill based degree which demand high levels of practices and hands on work in the labs as well as in person examinations which spiraled in essence in the online medium.

Although a few internal evaluations and theory based examinations can be administrated through the internet via online proctoring and online learning, the essential external ones and the practical parts of engineering degree programs have to be in person to uphold academic expectations and accreditation rules.
