The AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) released the guidelines for Working Professional degrees which state:
Guidelines of AICTE about Working Professionals Degree:
Eligibility:
- Required 1+ year of experience in full-time work
- Must ensure that your work organization/ industry should be within 75 km of the institution.
- Must have the qualifications for 2nd-year lateral entry.
Courses: NBA accreditation courses are allowed and the Education Institution must offer 3+ courses.
Syllabus: The syllabus is the same as the regular Btech program.
Exams: The exams are also the same as for the regular students.
Intake: Must fill 1/3rd of the approved intake for each course.
Credits: It is required to obtain the total credits mentioned in certain AICTE model curricula or university-affiliated.
Credit Transfer: Through MOOCs or SWAYAM, 40% of credits can be transferred.
