The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is responsible for approving technical institutions and programs in India. Established in 1945, AICTE ensures quality education by setting norms, accrediting institutions, and promoting education for women, differently-abled individuals, and weaker sections of society. It also provides grants to support technical education. One of the key approval processes AICTE follows is the Establishment of Authority (EoA). To generate an EoA report, institutions need to follow a simple process. They must click on the "Print EOA Report" link, answer all the norms displayed, and click "Submit". After that, they should enable the EoA by clicking "Enable EOA", go to the "Reports" section in the menu bar, select "EoA Report", and submit it. Finally, the generated EoA report can be downloaded from the "My Reports" section. This process ensures that institutions meet AICTE’s quality standards before receiving approval.

AICTE’s Extension of Approval (EoA) certifies that institutions comply with its quality benchmarks covering infrastructure, student-faculty ratio, land & build-up, and other key criteria. Through the EoA process, institutions gain formal permission to admit students and maintain recognition for their technical programs, which means institutions/ universities are offering a valid and recognized program.
