- Master's degree from a UGC approved University.
- Should have scored at least 60 percent marks.
- Qualification in the Amrita PhD entrance test of the NET exam.
- For engineering subjects, candidates with a B.Tech degree who qualified for GATE are also eligible.
- Applicants with NET or GATE qualifications need not appear for the Amrita PhD entrance examination. However, it is mandatory for them to appear and qualify for the interview.

The syllabus has been really noteworthy - which is the main reason I joined the course with Amrita - and them being known for their research (which also is my interest area). Here, the pre-application process was pretty smooth. But the part after the application was uncertain - I was told I will get a intimation about documentation - but in the end, had to do myself - there was a correction required in the document process - but the instructions were not very clear. However, I had come to know of a point of contact from the uni side, who was very approachable and helpful - kept me updated about the exact issue instead of the template answers I would normally hear from other orgs. I am looking forward to the course. Thanks to College Vidya and the university point of contact for helping me throughout the process
