GLA University was built in the year 1991. It is developed by Shri Narayan Das Agrawal. He created Sri Jagannath Prasad Ganeshi Lal Bazaz Charitable Trust Samiti in Mathura where GLA University is located i.e. 17km Stone, NH-19, Mathura-Delhi Road, P.O. Chaumuhan, Mathura-281 406 (U.P.) India. At GLA University many UG (Undergraduate) and PG (Postgraduate) courses are provided and B.Tech is one of them. Here, a B.Tech degree is delivered in two types i.e. B.Tech regular and B.Tech lateral entry. Regular B.Tech is a 4-year degree course meanwhile B.Tech Lateral Entry is a 3-year degree program. 

In B.Tech lateral entry students directly enroll in 2nd year because they have a 3-year diploma prior to B.Tech. There is another option B.Tech in flexible timing for working professionals because it is specifically structured for employed groups of people. Working professionals are the people who are employed and want to pursue higher education and cannot quit their jobs at the same time for some reason, so those people can easily opt for B.Tech lateral entry courses.

Students after completing the diploma or polytechnic enroll in 2nd year of B.Tech for further education, there they have to complete a three-year degree in engineering and technology. In this degree, they get the same facilities as regular students and share the same class with them. In the three-year B.Tech lateral entry program, there are a total of six semesters of six months each semester, in the middle of each semester mid-term examinations and at the end of each semester term examinations are conducted. To enroll in the B.Tech lateral entry course at GLA University, students must fulfill the given below eligibilities:

• First, a student must have completed their 3-year diploma from a recognized institute with a minimum of 60% of qualifying marks and first-division. 
• If a student does not have a diploma then they must have an equivalent degree i.e. B.Sc. with PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics). 
• GLA University also conducts entrance tests, therefore a student must take the entrance exam before admission. 

Specializations: At GLA, a B.Tech degree is available in different technical branches, and similarly, for B.Tech lateral entry, any branch can be very beneficial to students as it provides them with certain information both theoretically and practically. Course Fee: In B.Tech lateral entry, students get enrolled in 2nd year so they have to pay fees for 3 years or six semesters only (excluding the first year/1st and 2nd semesters). The total fee for this course is around 5,70,000/- INR for the computer science engineering branch and 5,43,000/- INR for other branches such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronics and communication engineering, etc.
