About IGNOU Online LLM
A postgraduate degree program with international recognition is the Master of Laws (LLM). Though some colleges provide LLM for working professionals for one to two years, the curriculum is typically two years long. The university and its anticipated standards determine the length of a program that differs from the standard. Those who want to further their professions and acquire in-depth knowledge in particular fields or specialties might seek LLM degrees. Students or working professionals who have finished a three-year LLB (Bachelor of Law) degree are eligible for this course. Additionally, students must take the entrance test for admission, which may be administered by the government (such as CLAT) or by the institution itself.

IGNOU offers multiple diploma certificates for law professionals including a post-graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDCJ), Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (PGDIPR), Post-Graduate Certificate in Patent Practice (PGCPP), Post Graduate Certificate in Cyber Law (PGCCL), a Certificate in Human Rights (CHR), Diploma in Paralegal Practice (DIPP), and more. However, IGNOU does not offer LLM courses but offers diploma courses and certificates as mentioned above.
IGNOU was established in 1985. This university offers programs through Open and Distance learning (ODL) and Online Learning (OL) modes. This university has been accredited by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) with an “A++ grade university”. However, the Bar Council Of India doesn’t approve the university to offer law degree through online or distance mode. Additionally, IGNOU was approved by AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) and UGC (University Grants Commission).

Who Can Apply?
Eligibility criteria to take admission in PG diploma courses at IGNOU:
- Students must have completed their bachelor’s degree in law with no re-appearance.
Eligibility criteria to take admission in LLM Programs:
- Must have completed LLB with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized university, however, some universities have different minimum percentage criteria.
- Must have qualified marks in the entrance examination conducted by the university itself or by the government of India.
- Students must have prior knowledge of the fields.
NOTE: The fee listed above is for the 1-year diploma course (Environmental Management & Law) and it may vary for different diploma courses that are offered by IGNOU.

IGNOU Online LLM Admission Process
The process for IGNOU online course admission can be completed via the official website’s admission portal. The steps involved in the admission process are listed below.

Step 2: Fill out the student registration form & register yourself with the university.
Step 3: After registration, re-login to the admission portal & fill out the admission application form.
