An LLM can be pursued in 2 ways, one as a traditional 2-year LLM program and the other as a 1-year LLM program. LLM is a master’s program that allows you to enhance the skills that will help you in your law profession, for example, effective communication, active listening, problem-solving, critical and analytical thinking, legal research skills, and more. To apply for an LLM program, you need to get good marks on the standardized entrance exam, like the CLAT or LSAT, or any other exam that is required for admission to a particular law school. Multiple specializations are there that you can choose for your LLM.

IGNOU is one of the most popular institutions that offers multiple courses but does not offer any LLM courses. Instead, the university offers a few PG Diplomas and Certificate programs like Certificate in Human Rights (CHR), Post-Graduate Certificate in Patent Practice (PGCPP), Graduate Certificate in Cyber Law (PGCCL), Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (PGDIPR), Post-Graduate Diploma in Criminal Justice (PGDCJ), Diploma in Paralegal Practice (DIPP), Graduate Certificate in Cyber Law (PGCCL), Post-Graduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Rights (PGDIPR), and more. 

IGNOU ranked 1st in the open university category in the NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) ranking 2024. IGNOU was established in the year 1985, and from that day they have been trying to offer quality education to students to help them get the best education in the industry.  IGNOU has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University Grants Commission (UGC). However, the university doesn’t get approval from the Bar Council of India to offer LLM courses but offers diploma law programs. IGNOU was awarded an “A++ grade university” by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).
