About IIITB Executive Certificate Program In DevOps

The Executive Certificate Program in DevOps that is provided by IIIT-Bangalore is an 8-month program meant for those who want to learn the dynamics of DevOps which involves how to seamlessly integrate the developers of a software program with the Operators of the software program who deploy & operate it. 

Then DevOps is somehow related to cloud computing as it could be a common space for integrating developers with the professionals responsible for operations while working together on a project. The program is based on the application of DevOps on the three platforms. The student will be taught tools and infrastructural aspects of a DevOps environment involving each professional navigating through the DevOps process and carrying out tasks that are efficiently executed. A step-wise approach is taught to understand the dynamics between each professional’s roles in a DevOps project.

 Some of the tools that are required to implement a DevOps environment are Terraform & Ansible that is required for infrastructure automation, then there is Kubernetes which is required for automated management & operation of a containerized application and monitoring & logging. In addition to that, some of the other areas that are covered are AI tools for Cloud & DevOps, then SynOps, and also DevSecOps.

The curriculum is designed in such a way that it develops core skills in DevOps that are used in containerization that involves Kubernetes & Docker tools, building infrastructure as a code and continuous integration/continuous delivery(CI/CD) using Jenkins tool.

This program also consists of modules related to Generative AI that are integrated with DevOps. It also gives a few modules related to Cloud Computing where DevOps plays a vital role in optimizing cloud space as a workspace. The admissions process at the International Institute of Information Technology Bangalore (IIIT Bangalore) is rigorous and demanding. The following outlines the admissions process:

Step 1: Candidates must fulfill the eligibility requirements for the selected program. Educational credentials, minimum marks or grades, and other prerequisites, such as acceptable admission exam results, are often included in these criteria.

Step 2: For management programs (MBA), prospective candidates must take national-level admission tests such as JEE Advanced, GATE, and CAT. The tests assess candidates' aptitude, topic knowledge, and problem-solving ability.

Step 3: Candidates must submit an online application through the IIIT Bangalore admissions portal. Personal information, academic history, entrance exam results, and any other information desired by the institute are all included in the application form.

Step 4: IIIT Bangalore shortlists candidates for subsequent selection stages based on entrance exam results and other specified criteria. Depending on the program and department, shortlisted candidates are often asked for interviews, written examinations, or group discussions.
