The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is a second-generation IIM set up by the Government of Indian in 2011. It is located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. As per the NIRF ranking of 2025, the IIM Kashipur has been ranked 23rd in the management category. 

The Exec-PhD programme is a part-time doctoral programme aimed at developing scholars' abilities to identify research gaps across a variety of management areas and to conduct quality research. The programme is dedicated to developing researchers who are the best in their respective areas of practice through quality, impactful publications.

The duration of the  Exec-PhD programme is 5 years. The program fee is INR 12,50,000. The Exec-PhD has been offered in various specializations that include Business Communication, Economics, Finance & Accounting, Information Technology & Systems, Marketing, Operations Management and Decision Sciences, Organizational Behavior & Human Resource Management, Public Policy, and Strategy. 

The individuals having working experience can also earn a doctoral degree through the Online DBA program, which can too in three years. The Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) is considered equivalent to a PhD program. To earn the ‘Dr’ title, you do not need to qualify for any entrance examination or even relocate anywhere. The program offers flexible classes where individuals can take the classes at their own convenience and pace.
