The Indian Institute of Management Kashipur is located in Kashipur, Uttarakhand. It is a second-generation IIM set up by the Government of India in 2011. According to the NIRF ranking of 2025, the IIM Kashipur has been ranked as 23rd in the management category.
IIM Kashipur's PhD programme is a residential, full-time doctoral programme aimed at professionals pursuing academic and research interests. The programme develops scholars who can identify, explore, and solve complex issues in management. The programme seeks candidates with an academic background, intellectual curiosity, and a work ethic to make a meaningful contribution to academic research. The programme develops researchers who are capable of publishing in high-quality journals with an international focus.
The PhD program offered at the IIM Kashipur is a 5-year full-time doctoral programme. There is no program fee; however, the scholars will receive financial assistance. The individuals will be receiving a stipend of INR 37,000 till the third year and a stipend of INR 42,000 for the rest of the duration.
The working professionals can pursue their doctoral degree through the online DBA program in three years. The Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) is considered equivalent to the PhD program. The Online DBA program is characterized by flexible classes; to enroll in this program, individuals are not required to qualify for any entrance examination.

- The institute offers financial support of up to INR 3 lakhs to PhD scholars for presenting their work at national and international conferences. In addition, scholars will also get a contingency grant of ₹25,000 for each month, plus a one-time equipment grant of ₹50,000.
- The working professionals can pursue their doctoral degree through the online Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) in three years. In this program, the individuals can earn the ‘Dr’ title through flexible classes, without clearing any entrance examination or even relocating.
