IIM Nagpur PhD in Management

• To be accepted as a student, an applicant must fulfill minimum eligibility requirements which consist of either a master's degree in any discipline or a two-year management diploma from a recognized institution with at least 60% marks or equivalent grades. 
• In addition, applicants with professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, or CS along with a bachelor's degree must have 60% marks in the case of the professional qualification and 50% in the case of the first degree. 
• The minimum requirement for the applicants is to hold a 5-year integrated master's degree (after 10+2) in any subject with a minimum of 60% or equivalent. 
• The applicant will also be required to have a valid score in one of the testing methods accepted such as CAT, GMAT, GRE, GATE, UGC-NET, UGC-JRF, or CSIR-NET, depending on the discipline. 
• Applicants need to have a 4-year bachelor's degree with at least 85% or its equivalent as the minimum requirement. Furthermore, students in their final year of qualifying programs as specified above, whose overall scores are in accordance with the percentage requirement, can get admission, provided that they present proof of their completion by the deadline.

The syllabus for the PhD in Management at IIM Nagpur is set in the way that the program consists of core courses in economics, quantitative methods, statistics, research methodology, and core management disciplines: marketing, finance, OB&HR, operations, and strategy. 

Further, there are advanced electives in the area of specialization, namely, Marketing, Finance & Accounting, Decision Sciences, OB&HR, P&OM, Strategy & Entrepreneurship, or Economics, supported by Doctoral Seminars, Independent Studies, and Workshops to enrich research capability. 

The last stage of the program consists of the development of the thesis proposal, comprehensive examination, and dissertation work comprising empirical/theoretical research and final defense.

The examination evaluation process of the Institute follows a basic pattern that includes two major components: internal assessment and term-end examinations. The internal assessment evaluates the practical understanding of an individual through quizzes, assignments, projects, etc., Whereas end-term examinations are conducted to evaluate the overall theoretical understanding of an individual and they carry 30% and 70% of overall weightage respectively.
