Course Benefits

• IIM Raipur offers a PhD in management and a PhD in management part-time (Practice track).
• The duration of the PhD offered at the IIM Raipur is 4 years, including 2 years of coursework.
• During the first two years, research scholars receive a monthly stipend of ₹50,000. After successfully passing the comprehensive exam, the fellowship amount increases to ₹55,000 per month for the next two years.
• The individuals will get additional benefits, including a Conference Grant of up to INR 2,00,000 during the entire program.
• Research scholars are entitled to a contingency grant ranging from INR 10,000 to INR 20,000 per month, along with a one-time allowance of INR 50,000 for the purchase of a laptop or personal computer.
• Fundamentals of Management (Phase 1)-  The doctoral students are required to complete Phase 1 within their first year. This phase is structured to build a strong foundation in general management and to foster a comprehensive understanding of their chosen area of specialization.
• On completing the first year of the program, the individuals are required to complete a research project as their summer internship with the help of their faculty.
• Specialization (Phase 2) - In the second year, the scholars are required to take advanced courses in their area of specialization. The program offers specialization in the following areas- Economics & Public Policy, Finance and Accounting, HRM & OB, Humanities & Liberal Arts, Information Systems , Marketing Management, Operations & Quant. Methods, Strategy & Entrepreneurship
• At the end of Phase 2, the individuals are required to qualify for a comprehensive examination
• Doctoral Dissertation (Phase 3)- The faculty members help the research scholars to assist them in identifying the dissertation topics based on their research interests.
• For working professionals, individuals can earn a doctoral degree through an Online DBA program. The Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) offers a doctoral degree along with the ‘Dr’ title that too in just three years. The program is equivalent to the PhD program. However, the individuals are not required to qualify for any entrance examination or relocate to earn the degree.
