IIM Vishakapatnam Executive PhD Program

To apply for the Executive-PhD program in management at IIM Visakhapatnam, the eligibility criteria are- 

• Individuals having a master’s degree or a post-graduate diploma in any discipline with an aggregate of 55% of marks 
• A professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 50% marks, along with B.Com/Degree with 55% marks.
• Individuals with a 4-year / 8-semester bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent are also eligible to apply for the program. 

Working experience

• Individuals must have 10 years of full-time working experience in managerial, executive, or professional roles following graduation.

Personal Interview 

• The shortlisting of the candidates for the Personal Interview will be based on the Statement of Purpose (SOP), previous academic qualifications, and professional accomplishments.   
• The personal interview will be conducted in two rounds. 

Preparing The Merit List

• Merit List will be prepared based on Personal Interview Score, Academic Qualification, Relevant Work Experience, professional accomplishments, and Research Statement of Purpose (SOP).

The Executive PhD Program is comprised of two phases:

Phase-1: Course Work

The coursework consists of the following components:

• General Core Courses (6 credits)
• Domain-Specific Courses (6 credits)
• Course of Independent Study (CIS) (18 credits)

Phase-2: Thesis Work

The thesis is the document that forms a major component for fulfilling the criteria for the award of a PhD. The thesis work broadly consists of the following stages:

• Constitution and Approval of the Thesis Advisory Committee (TAC)
• Thesis Proposal
• Thesis Submission and Defence
