IIM Vishakapatnam PhD in Management

To be eligible for the PhD in management program at the Indian Institute of Management, the eligibility criteria are- 

• A master’s degree holder in any discipline with an aggregate of 55% in both bachelor's and master's degrees. 
• Those having a professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with at least 50% marks, and B.Com/Degree with 55% marks
• Individuals with a 4-year bachelor’s degree with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent are also eligible to apply. 

Note: Individuals applying for the Production and Operations Management area, a Graduation and/or post-graduation in Science/Mathematics/ Management/ Engineering is mandatory.

Reservations  : IIM Vishakapatnam provides reservations to individuals belonging to the reserved categories. 

Test Scores  : The candidates have to qualify for entrance examinations such as JRF- UGC/CSIR, CAT, GMAT, or GRE, depending on the specialisation they have chosen. 

Selection : The shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview in Vishakapatnam.

The PhD in management program comprises two phases:

• Course work 
• Thesis

The individuals have to take up a mandatory coursework in their first year of the PhD program. 

To be qualified for the comprehensive examination, which is held after the completion of coursework, the candidates have to complete 27 credits in their first year of the program. 

Students will be subject to a minimum CGPA requirement of 2.75 at the end of the first year in coursework.

IIM Visakhapatnam's curriculum is meant to be broad and rigorous, encompassing all facets of management. It combines core courses, electives, case studies, simulations, and experiential learning experiences. The curriculum is changed regularly to reflect industry developments and expectations.
