About IIFT PhD in Management
The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) encourages students to gain in-depth knowledge of their domain. IIFT also encourages the students to conduct research independently by applying the methodologies. The faculty of the IIFT provides guidance to the doctoral students to gain more management insights. The Phd in Management program at IIFT is offered in broad areas- including finance, OB &HR, strategy, global trade operations and logistics, IT applications management, marketing, and operations & supply. The PhD in management program is offered in Delhi, Kolkata, and Kakinada.
The duration of the PhD program is 6 years. There is no program fee for the Indian full-time PhD scholars. However, to assist students in carrying out their research, IIFT offers monthly fellowship stipends to the students. The enrolled students in a full-time PhD program receive a monthly fellowship of INR 37,000 along with the HRA for the first two years. An amount of INR 42,000, along with the HRA for the remaining three years.
Moreover, you can also opt for the online DBA program. In a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), you will earn a doctoral degree along with the ‘Dr’ title, similar to the regular PhD. It offers flexible program timings, which you can pursue from your home without clearing any entrance exams.

- IIFT offers a doctoral degree in a variety of business-related subjects.
- The candidate must qualify for a UGC-NET (JRF) to be eligible for the PhD in management program offered by the IIFT.
- The duration of the PhD in management program offered by the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) is 3 to 6 years, which also includes a year of coursework.
- A confirmation certification will be issued to the individuals upon completing the coursework, which is for a year (2 semesters), that also includes the seminar paper and approval of the proposed research topic.
- The doctoral studies in IIFT encourage in-depth analysis and the gain of enriched domain knowledge.
- IIFT also encourages the PhD students to create new scientific knowledge by applying the methodology.
- Indian students enrolled in a full-time PhD program are not required to pay any program fee, except for a few facilities, which include library fees or alumni fees.
- For part-time PhD students, the program fees are approximately INR 5.10 lakhs along with other fees.
- The IIFT PhD in management has been offered in various specializations, including finance, OB &HR, strategy, global trade operations and logistics, IT applications management, marketing, and operations & supply.
- However, you can also earn your doctoral degree along with the ‘Dr.’ degree through an Online DBA program from a foreign university without relocating. An online DBA refers to the Doctor in Business Administration, which is considered equivalent to the regular PhD program.

Who Can Apply?
To apply for the IIFT PhD in management program, you need to fulfill the following eligibility criteria:
- Must have completed your master's degree in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 55%
- Students applying for the part-time PhD program must have 3 years of experience, including a year of teaching experience.
- Students who have completed MPhil and have scored a minimum of 55% are also eligible to apply for the PhD in management.
For students applying for the part-time PhD program who are employed:
- Such students must submit a “No Objection Certificate” from his/her employer. That must include that the individual is permitted to pursue studies on a part-time basis.

The syllabus of the IIFT is designed for in-depth analysis of its domain. Along with the coursework, the students are also trained in various teaching, research, and other academic activities. IIFT PhD in Management Examination Pattern
The term-end examinations of the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade are held online for the online and distance programmes. The students can submit their assignments online through the LMS of the university. For the on-campus programmes, the term-end examination is divided into research, viva, and field visit. The final examination marks depend on many factors, including the attendance of the students.
