LPU or Loverly Professional University has been a very famous institute for many years. This institute provides multiple academic options in different courses and subjects and engineering is one of them. 

Lovely Professional University is located at Jalandhar-Delhi, G.T. Road, Phagwara, Punjab. It was founded in 2001 by Late Sh. Baldev Raj Mittal the Founder and Chairman of Lovely Group. LPU provides courses in not only regular types but many others. This university provides engineering courses in many branches, so it delivers engineering bachelor's degrees in regular mode and in lateral entry. This B.Tech lateral entry course is created for diploma holders, people who pursued a three-year diploma course after the 10th standard can apply for this. 

In the B.Tech lateral entry course, students receive the same quality of education as regular B.Tech students, the major difference is that lateral entry students do not enroll in the first year because they already have a diploma, therefore, they are already aware of the basis of the first year. In this course, students have to visit campus every day to attend classes and mark their attendance, they have to pay the fee for the hostel, bus, mess, etc. like other regular students.

There are a number of students who have a diploma but those students are unable to pursue B.Tech lateral entry because of commitments like occupation. Those people have the zeal to pursue this degree but cannot attend classes on campus every day. So, there is another option for them which is not B.Tech online and B.Tech distance education because it is not approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), and the Supreme Court. 

Instead, there is B.Tech flexible timing also known as B.Tech for working professionals. The degree awarded in both these cases is of regular B.Tech. In both, there are 3 years and 6 semesters of six months each, the examinations are conducted as mid-term exams in the middle of the semester and end-term exams at the end of the semester. During each semester assignments, quizzes, tests, seminars, and practical labs are conducted.
