- The applicant must hold a 3-year Diploma in Engineering / Technology or a B.Sc. degree (with Mathematics at 10+2 level).
- Minimum aggregate marks required for the General category is 45% but 40% for the reserved category.

MGIMT B.Tech Lateral Entry Examination Pattern
MGIMT still uses a semester-based examination system that is prevalent in most universities. Consequently, semester exams are held twice each academic year.
