Registration Process for CAT 2025: Step-by-Step Guide

CAT 2025 registration involves various steps. Follow this detailed guide to avoid any mistakes:

  • Step 1: Official Website:Open your web browser and type in http://iimcat.ac.in/. The registration link will be available once the application window opens.
  • Step 2: New User Registration:

Click on the "New Candidate Registration" link and give basic details such as:

  1. Full name (as per official documents)
  2. Date of birth
  3. Email ID
  4. Mobile number

The User ID and password will be sent to your email and phone number.

  • Step 3: Logging into Your Account:Use the User ID and password to log in. For security reasons, change the password if you want.
  • Step 4: Fill in the Application Form:

Carefully enter the required details like:

  1. Personal details (name, DOB, gender, category, PwD status)
  2. Academic details (10th, 12th, and graduation details)
  3. Work experience, if any
  4. Preference for exam centers (max six places)
  5. Preference for exam language

Step 5: Upload Scanned Copies

Upload scanned copies of:

  • Passport size photograph (30 mm x 45 mm, JPG/PNG, < 80 KB)
  • Signature (80 mm x 35 mm, JPG/PNG, < 80 KB)

  • Step 7: Review and Submit:Before clicking on the submit button, review the entire form. Look for errors or omissions. Once you are satisfied, submit the form.
  • Step 8: Download Confirmation:After submitting the form, download the confirmation page or receipt and keep it for future use.

What are the CAT Exam Fees?

The examination fee for CAT varies from category to category and is to be paid online at the time of application. The fee structure is as given below:

How to Edit the CAT Application Form 2025?

Mistakes happen, but not to worry. CAT authorities have provided a window for making corrections. The details will be released in advance to look out for, and this is the usual timeline: 

  • Correction Window Opens: Generally, this happens in the last week of September.
