The Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has extended the admission dates for the January 2025 session until 15th February 2025, allowing more interested students to submit their applications. The eligible students can complete the registration process for Open and Distance Learning (ODL) programs on the official IGNOU websites: ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in and ignouiop.samarth.edu.in.

The deadline for "Fresh Admissions" in all ODL and Online programs for the January 2025 session has been extended from January 31, 2025, to February 15, 2025. As per the official statement from IGNOU, a non-refundable registration fee will be included in the program costs for the first semester or year at the time of application acceptance.   • Undergraduate Courses: The undergraduate program requires a 10+2 degree from any recognized board or an equivalent degree.
  • Diploma Courses: Diploma or certificate courses require eligibility criteria of a 10+2 certification degree from a renowned board.
  • Postgraduate Courses: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university for the Postgraduate Program.

What are the Documents Required?

The IGNOU registration procedure requires various documents are mentioned below. These documents are required in the given size:

  • A passport-sized student photo of 100 KB file size.
  • Student's signature of 100 KB file size
  • A scanned copy of an educational certificate has a size of 200 KB.
  • If students belong to OBC, SC, or ST membership, then you need a scanned copy of the Caste Certificate of 200KB file size.
  • If students have some work experience, then you need a scanned copy of the Work experience with a 200KB file size.

What are the steps for Enrolling?

Interested students who want to register for the IGNOU January 2025–26 session must follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: Visit the website of IGNOU
Step 2: Find and click the January Admissions 2025 link on the home page.
Step 3: A new page with links to online and ODL programs will be displayed before you.
Step 4: Choose a program, fill in the application form, and upload all necessary documents.
Step 5: Complete the application and pay the Registration fees.
Step 6: Print out the successful application submission on an A-4 sheet of paper for future records.

What are the Fees for Registration?

The Registration Fee is non-refundable and can be refunded before confirmation of admission. However, in case any cancellation is received after confirmation of admission, 15% of the fee, subject to the cap of Rs. 2,000/- shall be deducted.

Refund policy:

All students who opt for a soft copy of the SLM shall get only the refund of the Registration fee. If a student has availed fee exemption then only the Development fee shall be refunded. Refunds are not admissible after 60 days of closures of admissions.
