The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) has announced its latest online venture, a 2-year online MBA program provided in a hybrid format for working professionals and entrepreneurs.
In announcing the program, Professor Bharat Bhasker, Director of IIMA, expressed his thoughts, saying, "The launch of the Online MBA program is a cause of joy for us, as it extends IIMA's legacy, giving top-notch education to working professionals and entrepreneurs worldwide. This unique program effortlessly combines the flexibility of online learning with the experience of on-campus engagement, ensuring that participants get the information and skills required for success in their chosen career choices."
Professor Joshy Jacob, Chairperson of the Online MBA, elaborated on the program's structure, saying, "The curriculum is carefully developed to empower participants with both functional and organizational abilities required for surviving in a tough environment. It attempts to improve working professionals' capacities by exposing them to decision-making frameworks based on human behavior, economics, finance, and other topics. The in-person workshops at IIMA concentrate on complex interpersonal and organizational dynamics that might be difficult to navigate and learn. In contrast, the online sessions through live seminars focus on a subject that lends itself well to quantitative and methodical analysis."
IIM Ahmedabad's pedagogy, program emphasizes a case-based approach, with a focus on practical learning, to provide participants with the information and skills required for success in today's ever-changing business environment.

Who Can Apply
Eligibility Criteria:
- A graduation degree along with the 3-year of full-time work experience for Working Professionals and Entrepreneurship
- Candidates must have a minimum age of 24 years and no upper limit set.
- Holding a bachelor's degree in CA/CS/ICWA or any equivalent degree with 15 years of study that includes (10+2+3)
Admission Criteria:
- Candidates are required to take the Online IIMA admission test (IAT) for the 2-year online MBA program.
- A valid CAT score is also valid.
- The new GMAT Focus Edition Exam and previous GMAT/GRE scores are also acceptable.
- Final selections depend upon the interview round.
Reservation:
- The Government of India mandates that 27% of the seats be set aside for NC-OBC candidates, 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 5% for PwD candidates, and up to 10% for candidates from Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Additionally, candidates must carefully check the category on the CAT application form to which they belong.
- A "person with benchmark disability" is defined in The Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016 (RPwD Act 2016) as an individual who has at least 40% of a specified disability in cases where the specified disability has not been defined in measurable terms. This definition also includes individuals with disabilities in cases where the specified disability has been defined in measurable terms and has been certified by the certifying authority.
“specified disability” means the disabilities as specified in the Schedule of the RPwD Act 2016. The categories of disability are listed below:
- Low eyesight and blindness
- Difficulty of hearing and deafness
- Locomotor disability, such as muscular dystrophy, dwarfism, or leprosy that has been treated, cerebral palsy, and acid attack victims
- Mental illness, autism, intellectual disability, and specific learning disability,
- Individuals with multiple disabilities from those listed in clauses (a) through (d), and
- Other "specified disabilities" that are included in the RPwD Act of 2016's Schedule.
Note: The above-mentioned categories of candidates are required to check the reservation percentage before enrolling in the IIMA program. Those categories students are required to meet the set eligibility criteria for admission.
