Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), starting its re-registration portal for the January 2025 session. The registration started on 2 December 2024, the re-registration process will remain open up to 31st January 2025. To register, a student can visit the website of IGNOU.
The last date for re-registration for the January 2025 session has been announced on the IGNOU official website as January 15, 2025. However, as per the official statement on Twitter ('X'), dates were extended till January 31, 2025. The notice on Twitter is available on HERE.
Students have to click the "New Registration" link and fill in a valid email address and mobile number. If already registered, students can sign in with their username and password to proceed. The students are required to upload the following documents while re-registering:
- Valid Email ID
- Mobile Number
- Enrollment Number
- Marksheet from the previous semester/year (if applicable)
- Category Certificate (if applicable)
- Recent Passport Size Photograph
- Scanned Copy of Signature
- Identity Proof (such as Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, etc.)

- Step 2: Opens in a new window Click on Re-Registration from the home page.
- Step 3: Opens in a new window Read all the instructions for the January 2025 session carefully.
- Step 4: Click on the "Proceed" button to continue the registration process.
- Step 5: Insert your username and password.
- Step 6: Fill in the Form by entering all required information and upload any relevant documents.
- Step 7: Submit: Save your data and click the "Submit" button.
Important Details:
- Carefully select the courses: Changes made in the chosen courses afterwards can ruin the course structure.
- Use Secure Payment Options: Choose secure payment options like online banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI apps like BHIM.
- Payment Issues: In case of delayed payments or duplicate transactions, IGNOU will refund the extra amount within a few days.
Students must complete their re-registration way in advance of the deadline, thus not experiencing technical issues on time or delays. They should save a copy of their re-registration form along with the payment receipt proof.
