Recently, UGC has issued a notice regarding ODL & online learning programs. In the important notice of UGC, it has mentioned a few pointers for those who are looking forward to studying either in the ODL (Open & Distance Learning) & Online Mode. Refer to the points below to be aware of the UGC’s important notice:
- The University Grants Commission (UGC) has declared that students who are taking admission to the ODL & online learning programs are not required to give Common University Entrance Test (CUET). In its latest update, UGC said “Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is not applicable/not required for admission to any ODL and Online programmes being offered at any level.”
- Furthermore, UGC has mentioned several other points in the notice regarding which courses are permissible for ODL & online learning and which are not.
- It has come to the limelight that UG/PG/PG Diploma courses that have mentioned “aviation” in their name are not permissible or allowed for both ODL & Online mode. “Programmes having aviation in nomenclature in any discipline at UG/PG/Post Graduate Diploma levels are NOT permitted in ODL and Online mode,” said UGC.
- Next, it has declared that programs either degree or diploma in Tourism & Hospitality Management are only valid for Open & Distance Learning (ODL) mode not for the online mode.
