    In a latest announcement by Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), the last date for admission to the online and ODL courses has been extended to 22 September 2022. The announcement can be checked on the official page for admission of IGNOU, https://ignouadmission.samarth.edu.in/. 

    With the last date of admission for the July cycle being extended to 22 September 2022, students can now seek admission in the various Open Distance Learning (ODL) and online courses that are offered by the university. 

    IGNOU conducts its admissions in two spheres- the January admission cycle (calendar year) and the July admission cycle (academic year).  IGNOU is currently conducting its July admissions, which began on 30 May 2022. The last dates for the admissions were initially closed on  9 September 2022, but the university has now extended the deadline further till 22 September 2022 owing to the high number of students seeking admissions in the various courses. 

    Students can apply for admissions in IGNOU online or ODL courses by either creating a fresh registration from the official website of the university or by logging in to their existing credentials on the website. 

    This can be done in a few easy steps: 

      1. Visit the official page of IGNOU: www.ignou.ac.in 
      2. Click on the tab ‘Register Online’ which will direct you to the registration window of the university. 
      3. Then you can click on ‘Fresh Admission’ and then select new registration or login using your existing credentials. 
      4. You can fill in your personal details and academic qualifications to apply for admission.
