The SNAP (Symbiosis National Aptitude Test) Exam is conducted by SIU (Symbiosis International (deemed) University), and it has a syllabus that is also set by the same institute. The SNAP exam is one of the most popular entrance exams among the other entrance exams such as CAT, XAT, MAT, etc and it also opens the door to the top-rated SIU-affiliated universities.  

The syllabus of the SNAP exam is divided into three major sections that include General English (Verbal Reasoning, Verbal Ability), Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency, and Analytical & Logical Reasoning. The exam has 60 questions in multiple-choice questions (MCQs) for 60 minutes. There is no sectional limit for the exam. The first section of the SNAP exam is the General English section. Earlier, there were 3 topics in this section that includes a reading comprehension, verbal reasoning and verbal ability section. However, in the SNAP exam 2024, there is only two sections in the General English verbal reasoning and verbal ability section.

The General English section is one of the simplest section of the SNAP section that holds 15 questions of 1 mark each. Therefore, it is the section where you have more chances to score more or maybe full marks. However, it is important to prep this section with a strategic study framework. Here are the few prep tips for the General English section that consists of verbal reasoning and verbal ability questions. 

  1. Understand the syllabus and exam pattern of the General English (Verbal Reasoning and Verbal Ability). 
  2. Try to focus on the logical questions such as analogy, para jumbles, and other reasoning questions. 
  3. Try to improve your reading ability by reading newspaper, magazines, books on different topics such as science, literature etc, since it will help you to read your question paper on time and thoroughly.

The SNAP Syllabus: QA, DI-DS section is one of the trickest of the SNAP section that holds 20 questions of 1 mark each. Therefore, it is the section where you have more chances to score more or maybe full marks if you have correct preparation. However, it is important to prep this section with a strategic study framework. Here are the few prep tips for the Quantitative, Data Interpretation & Data Sufficiency (QA, DI-DS) section that consists of quantitative and data interpretation-related questions. 

  1. Understand the syllabus and exam pattern of the QA, DI-DS. 
  2. Focus on improving the data interpretation skills including tables, graphs, and charts, and solve logical reasoning questions related to data sufficiency.
  3. Focusing on the core topics of quantitative ability of arithmetic such as percentages, averages, profit and loss, ratios and proportions, time and work, speed and distance, and partnerships.
  4. Try to focus on the core topics of quantitative ability of algebra such as Linear equations, quadratic equations, inequalities, progressions (AP, GP, HP), and functions.
  5. Keep your strong hold on the geometric and mensuration-related topics such as circles, triangles, polygons, areas, volumes, and coordinate geometry.
  6. Make sure that you have practiced enough of the topics related to modern mathematics such as probability, permutations and combinations, set theory, and logarithms.

3. Syllabus of Analytical & Logical Reasoning (A-LR) 

The third and last section of the SNAP exam is the Analytical & Logical Reasoning section. This section is also quite tricky but with the good .   1. Understand the syllabus and exam pattern of the Analytical & Logical Reasoning (A-LR).
  2. Try to focus on the analytical and logical questions such as analytical reasoning, puzzle-based questions, blood relations, seating arrangement, syllogisms, statement conclusions, and more.
