What Is Online M.Tech?
M.Tech is one of the most popular courses after B.Tech to become a professional engineer. But what if the student is not able to attend daily classes through traditional classroom education because of some circumstances? M.Tech online courses are designed to provide detailed knowledge of technology to these students so they can apply this knowledge in the real world to become professional engineers.
M.Tech or Master’s of Technology is a postgraduate course in engineering. The students pursue the M.Tech course after completing the Bachelor’s degree in technology for getting higher studies in technology. The duration of the course is 2 years which is subdivided into 4 semesters of 6 months each.
The course can be accomplished through the traditional classroom method and online method. Online M.Tech is for those students who want to become an engineer but not able to attend traditional classroom education due to some circumstances. They can opt for the online M.Tech course which will provide them the knowledge of technology and help them to become professional engineers without attending classroom education.
However, online M.Tech does not mean that the entire course is conducted. In fact, that is not true. The course is actually conducted in a hybrid mode with both online classes and offline classes. Mostly the theoretical classes are conducted online through a digital platform, commonly known as the Learning Management System (LMS). The classes conducted online are recorded and saved on this LMS so that the students can access them at anytime. All the study material of the course is also available on this LMS. This LMS, in fact, is like a virtual classroom. On the other hand, the practical learning happens through offline classes on the campus so that the students can access laboratories.
The course has been designed for working professionals, so the classes are conducted in the evenings and on weekends so that they can easily manage their jobs. The course is hence also known as a part-time M.Tech course.
The part-time M.Tech course includes many specializations for the students. Students can choose any specialization according to their interests. If any student wants to make a career in construction work then civil engineering is the best specialization for that student or if any student wants to build a career in designing, manufacturing, and managing machinery then mechanical engineering is the best.
So there are many more specializations formulated to fulfill the needs of every sector of the industry. The part-time M.Tech specializations are listed here:-

M.Tech Online is Valid?
M.Tech online course in any specialization is not valid as it does not have the approval of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and University Grant Commission (UGC). The M.Tech course is all about theoretical and practical knowledge. As already mentioned at the start of the blog, instead of online M.Tech, the part-time M.Tech course is valid.
Theoretical knowledge can be learned through online classes but it is hard to attain practical knowledge through online education. The students can get technical knowledge only by face to face learning and theoretical knowledge is not sufficient to become a professional engineer.
So AICTE and UGC have discussed this problem and declared the online/ distance learning M.Tech courses as invalid courses. College Vidya does not promote any invalid courses.
We are writing this blog because the students search for this course on the internet at a high level. So we are guiding them to go for valid courses like the M.Tech working professional course to enhance their future.
Conclusion
In this blog, we gave detailed knowledge about the M.Tech part-time course which is declared valid by the UGC and AICTE. The students who are searching for the engineering course but not able to attend daily classes can pursue the M.Tech for working professional course for enhancing their career.
