BITS WILP Online MBA in Finance

The Online MBA in Finance is a two-year specialization program provided by BITS Pilani WILP that covers management courses concerning the world of business, and the curriculum is finance-oriented. The program creates foundations in functional areas of management and the student acquires the knowledge & skills related to finance so that the student’s expertise of management prowess integrates with the Finance domain that prepares the student for taking up roles of management leaders with an expertise in Finance-based roles.

The curriculum is designed so that the student is presented with scenarios, simulations, and situations to learn how to navigate them and grow the company by solving the challenges posed to them using empathy-based leadership, critical thinking & decision-making skills. 

Concerning the specialization, the student gets to learn Finance & Accounting which covers related essential concepts & frameworks that are involved in them. In addition to that, the student learns to analyze the dynamics of the financial markets & products along with understanding the different types of investors and their behavior to understand the stakes involved in the investment game.

Additionally, the student is made to think & understand how to evaluate financial products through a variety of approaches. Learning the Interpretation of financial market data and cash flows is a big takeaway from this program due to the essentiality it plays in making informed decisions. Some of the techniques, analytical & quantitative ones are taught to measure & manage financial risks to keep the organization in check to avoid any catastrophe. 

The program offers electives that are Advanced Risk Models, Financial Risk Management, Management of Banks & Financial Institutions, Behavioural Finance, Introduction to Fintech, Business Analysis and Valuation, Venture Capital & Private Equity, and Mergers, Acquisitions, & Corporate Restructuring.

The eligibility criteria for the BITS Pilani WILP Online MBA in Finance program are given below in two options and the candidate must fit one of the two options:

Option 1: 

• The candidate must be employed in an organization.
• The candidate must be a holder of a degree in one of the following degrees or their equivalent: 
  • B.Tech
  • M.Sc
  • Integrated First Degree of BITS Pilani
  • B.E.
• The candidate must have a minimum aggregate mark of 60% in their degree.
• The candidate must have a relevant work experience of 1-year after graduation.

Option 2:

• The candidate must be employed in an organization.
• The candidate must be a holder of a three-year undergraduate degree in one of the following programs or their equivalent: 
  • B.Com
  • BCA
  • B.Sc
• The candidate should have scored a minimum aggregate mark of 60% at his/her graduation.
• The candidate should have studied mathematics or statistics courses during their high school or at a higher level.
• The candidate must have a minimum work experience of 2 years after graduation.

The BITS Pilani WILP Online MBA in Finance program syllabus lists the courses that are core-based and related to the functional areas of management and specialization-based courses related to the domain of Finance.

The examination pattern at BITS Pilani WILP programs is divided into three parts: Assignment / Quiz (Online), Mid Semester Test, and Comprehensive exam respectively. The weightage of each component is as follows Assignment / Quiz carries 15%, Mid Semester Test carries 35%, and Comprehensive Exam carries 50%. Each semester of the program conducts these three components to evaluate the overall theoretical and practical understanding of the student.
