IGNOU Onine BBA In Retailing

Bachelor of Business Administration in Retailing (BBARL) is offered at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) through ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode under the School of Management at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University) The program is equipped with all the essential and latest education needs of a student, the main objective of the program is to build a strong base among the candidates interested in retailing and upskill them with the in-depth knowledge of purchasing, marketing, retailing, advertising, retail management, and all aspects of it. 

The curriculum of the program is regularly updated and revised according to the latest education policy, and the program structure includes a Diploma in Retailing (DIRIL) in the first year, an Advanced Diploma in Retailing (ADIRIL) in the second year, a Bachelor of Business Administration in Retailing (BBARIL) is completed in the third year and the program includes a three-month internship in the first year and OTJ (on the job training) in the second and third year respectively.

There are various job opportunities after completing a BBA in retailing retail Executive, Sales Manager, Retail Executive, Sales Associate, Operation Manager,  Advertising Manager, etc. The program has included Principles of Marketing, Overview of Retailing, Retail Management Perspectives and Communication, Store Operations, and all important aspects of the retail industry in the curriculum of the program.

The duration of the program is 3 years but the university offers flexibility and allows students to complete the program in a maximum of 6 years. IGNOU is the largest open university worldwide and the first open university in India that is accredited with a NAAC “A ++” grade meanwhile, the university is also recognized by UGC-DEB (University Grants Commission-Distance Education Bureau). The university offers self-learning material, an audio/visual program, counseling, internship, on-the-job training, and various facilities for better future aspects of students. 

The eligibility criteria for BBA Retailing (BBARL) at IGNOU is divided into 2 categories, mentioned below:
Direct entry

• Physically fit candidates must have 10+2 or equivalent qualifications.
• The university offers reservation seats as per the guidelines of the Government of India.

Sponsored admission

• The sponsor organization is allowed to nominate an employee of their organization with 02/equivalent qualification. Then the sponsor is required to submit a letter on the company’s official letterhead issued by the higher authority along with a separate and individual application of the nominated candidate, which includes the program fee with a demand draft in favor of IGNOU payable at New Delhi. 

There is a third category under the eligibility criteria, namely Lateral Entry. This category is for those students who have completed a Diploma in Retailing (DIR) from IGNOU. These students can take direct admission to the second year of BBA Retailing. They are only required to study only the second and third-year courses.
 

IGNOU Online offers the option of Credit Card/Debit card/Net Banking in its fee payment options but does not provide you a “No Cost EMI” option as of now for any of the online courses.

The examination pattern followed at IGNOU online for different types of courses is semester mode, i.e., exams are conducted by the university at an interval of 6 months. For online courses, exams are conducted through an AI-proctored tool for an unbiased performance evaluation of students.
