Bachelor of Commerce with a major in Accountancy and Finance is offered through ODL (Open and Distance Learning) mode at IGNOU (Indira Gandhi National Open University). The BCom A&F is specially designed for the students to assist them in developing skills and abilities in the field of accountancy and finance. BCom A&F is offered and designed under collaboration with The Board of Studies, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, solely for the Chartered Accountancy students.

The duration of the program is 3 years, as for a bachelor's degree but students at IGNOU can complete their program in a maximum of 6 years (3 additional years are offered for flexibility of students). The main objective of the program is to offer in-depth knowledge of accounts and finance to students to strengthen the base of students in the commerce industry.

Students who are pursuing Chartered Accountancy First Stage offered By ICAI can also enroll under the BCom Major in Accountancy and Finance. The main objective of this facility is to allow students to pursue a dual degree. For students who qualify for the first stage of Chartered Accountancy, their credit score will be transferred to the BCom Major in Accountancy and Finance program.

• Passed the Common Proficiency Test/ PE-I/ Foundation from ICAI
• Registered themselves under Professional Competence Course/ PE-II/ Intermediate (Chartered Accountancy First Stage) of ICAI or have already cleared the Integrated Professional Competence Course/PE-II/ Intermediate program.

IGNOU Online offers the option of Credit Card/Debit card/Net Banking in its fee payment options but does not provide you a “No Cost EMI” option as of now for any of the online courses.

The examination pattern followed at IGNOU online for different types of courses are semester mode, i.e., exams are conducted by the university at an interval of 6 months. For online courses, exams are conducted through an AI-proctored tool for an unbiased performance evaluation of students.
