IIITB Executive PG Program in Data Science

The Executive Post Graduate Programme in Data Science is a 1-year program provided by IIIT-Bangalore and deals with one of computer science’s major domains, which is Data Science. Data Science is meant to be a quintessential field where it deals with data and its ecosystem in the digital era. In the 21st century, we are surrounded by zettabytes of data that are still getting created and expanded every second, and there is a need to make sense of it and use it for the execution of interests & goals differing from one entity to another. 

Data Science involves handling data that involves processes such as mining, cleaning, analyzing, manipulating, and predicting data. This implementation is carried out through tools and techniques such as Python, R programming languages, Tableau, MYSQL etc. to derive insights that are finally used to execute the necessary actions required to be taken depending on the scenario. These scenarios could be in general used in business/organizational landscapes where they use data to make decisions and strategize plans required for the business’s/organization’s progress.

The student of this program gets to learn the intricacies of data and its functionalities that define as a foundation for areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, etc. The program is designed in such a way that it caters to the need of the student to become a good data-related professional who can handle data related problems and be a change maker in crafting solutions. The student gets to learn a wide variety of knowledge & skills from a variety of programming tools and languages that are required to handle data related problems and processes. Along with that, there are modules related to Generative AI that is included equipping the students with the most significant skill of the current times.

This program is held online that is conducted through live sessions. In addition to that, for flexible learning, the student also has access to recorded sessions. Under the IIIT-Bangalore Executive Post Graduate Program in Data Science, the specializations provided are Deep Learning, Business Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Business Intelligence/ Data Analytics, and Data Engineering.

The student also has the option of upgrading his/her Executive PG program qualification to a Master’s degree through transferring credits gained during the same program.

The fees for the IIIT-Bangalore Executive Post Graduate Program in Data Science is INR 3.25 Lakhs.

The eligibility criteria for enrolling into the IIIT-Bangalore Executive Post Graduate Program in Data Science is given in the following-

• The candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree or a Master’s Degree in any discipline.
• The candidate should have scored a minimum of 50% mark or equivalent CGPA.
