Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIM A) is located in Gujarat, which is one of the IIMs that have been accorded the status of National Importance by the Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India, in 2017. The institute offers a PhD in management in various specializations, including Economics, Finance & Accounting, Food and Agribusiness, Human Resource Management, Information Systems, Innovation and Management in Education, Marketing Operations & Decision Sciences, Organizational Behavior, Public Systems, and Strategy.

The duration of the program offered by the university is 4 to 5 years, which also includes two years of intensive coursework that provides a comprehensive overview of the management discipline and helps develop fundamental skills for analyzing managerial issues. 

IIM Ahmedabad provides financial assistance to individuals of a stipend of INR 42,000 per month for the first and second year. On completing the comprehensive examination, they will receive a stipend of INR 45,000 per month. After submitting the thesis proposal, the individuals will receive a stipend of INR 50,000 per month.

Moreover, individuals can earn their doctoral degree in three years by opting for an online DBA program. The Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) is considered equivalent to the regular PhD program that offers flexible timings of the classes. In an online DBA program, the individuals are not required to clear any entrance examinations to earn the ‘Dr.’ title or relocate.
