IIM Bangalore PhD

The eligibility criteria for the PhD program at IIM Bangalore are :

• Those having a master's degree (after completing a bachelor's degree) in any discipline. 
• An integrated master’s degree (after completing higher secondary schooling in the 10+2 pattern) in any discipline. 
• Individuals holding professional qualifications like CA, ICWA, CS 
• Individuals holding a four-year bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for the PhD program. 

There are various financial aids available at IIM-B, they offer many scholarships to the students like the Aditya Birla Scholarship,  Citi Women’s Leader Award, Siddhartha Padam Award, Runwal Education Trust Scholarship,  Yes Bank Scholarship,  Employment in Social Sector Scholarship, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Scholarship (SC), OPJEMS Scholarship, Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship and many more. They allow students to study and complete their courses without any hassle or hindrance. They have a dedicated Financial Aid Committee that decides the scholarship awardee and aid/support management. 

For the first two years, coursework is mandatory for the PhD-enrolled students. The program has two categories- core courses and elective courses. For the third year onwards, the individuals will work on their dissertations. 

The doctoral students are also required to qualify for comprehensive examinations to assess their in-depth understanding of the domain-related knowledge of the individuals. 

IIM Bangalore does not provide a syllabus for its PhD program; however, here is the coursework of the program. 

The Examination for students enrolled in full-time courses will be done in traditional pen-paper mode. However, the institution has given flexibility to the students pursuing online programs. They are not supposed to visit any University or study center for examination or project submission. Online examination will be done through the examination portal of the University.

Students are advised to read all the guidelines and advisories before appearing for the final examination. Also, the students have to submit the assignments or projects allotted by the University, that will be required for the evaluation process. They provide self-paced learning material that helps students to appear for the examination. 

The doctoral program at IIM Bangalore is a research-oriented program. Individuals enrolled in the program will learn theoretical knowledge as well as research skills and methodologies in their 2 years of coursework. The individuals can pursue their career as a professor, consultant, researcher, or data analyst upon completing the program. 

However, individuals can pursue their doctoral degree through the online DBA program, which can also be completed in three years. The Doctor in Business Administration (DBA) provides theoretical as well as practical domain knowledge that has wider job opportunities, even senior-level roles.
