IIM Bangalore PhD in Management

The eligibility criteria for the PhD program at IIM Bangalore are- 

• Individuals who have completed their master’s degree in any discipline 
• Those who have a five-year integrated master's degree in any of the disciplines can also apply for the program. 
• Candidates holding a post-graduate diploma
• Those having a professional qualification such as CA, ICWA, CS 
• Individuals with a four-year bachelor’s degree are also eligible to apply for the program. 

There are various financial aids available at IIM-B, they offer many scholarships to the students like the Aditya Birla Scholarship,  Citi Women’s Leader Award, Siddhartha Padam Award, Runwal Education Trust Scholarship,  Yes Bank Scholarship,  Employment in Social Sector Scholarship, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment Scholarship (SC), OPJEMS Scholarship, Societe Generale Global Solution Centre India Scholarship and many more. They allow students to study and complete their courses without any hassle or hindrance. They have a dedicated Financial Aid Committee that decides the scholarship awardee and aid/support management. 

The PhD in management program offered by the IIM Bangalore is divided into 2 phases: coursework and thesis research. The first phase covers the first two years, and that includes the components like coursework, independent study, and a summer research project at the end of the first academic year. The second phase is focused on dissertation research. 

However, IIM Bangalore does not provide any syllabus for the PhD in management program. The coursework of the program is mentioned:

The Examination for students enrolled in full-time courses will be done in traditional pen-paper mode. However, the institution has given flexibility to the students pursuing online programs. They are not supposed to visit any University or study center for examination or project submission. Online examination will be done through the examination portal of the University.

Students are advised to read all the guidelines and advisories before appearing for the final examination. Also, the students have to submit the assignments or projects allotted by the University, that will be required for the evaluation process. They provide self-paced learning material that helps students to appear for the examination. 

The syllabus of IIM Bangalore is research-oriented, which offers in-depth subject knowledge by using research methodologies. The individuals will have wider job opportunities and market exposure. After completing the program, they can pursue their career in teaching, research or consulting. The individuals can pursue their career as a researcher, university professor, data analyst, consultant, or others. 

Individuals pursuing their doctoral degree through the DBA program (Doctor in Business Administration), which is a three-year program, will have wider job opportunities in various sectors.
