IIM Sirmaur Exam Pattern

The IIM Sirmaur Executive MBA programme has an evaluation and examination system which happens at regular intervals. These evaluation outlets are in the form of quizzes, case studies, written tests, assignments, online exams, projects, term papers, and object/subjective assessments. In quizzes, a student’s ability to answer essential aspects of the subject asked by the instructor is evaluated. This also tests who is answering and who is not answering, eventually testing the knowledge of the crowd. Then there are case studies, in which a business company’s decisions, planning, and execution regarding a product/service are studied. It also gives the student a chance to apply his/her current knowledge and analytical skills to learn from the case.

Then there are written tests such as term papers that are held at the end of each term. These term papers examine the student’s total subject knowledge and act as an outlet for the student’s expression of the understanding of the subject. These examinations are held at learning centres that are assigned by the institute. Then some assignments test the student’s understanding of the topic assigned. This helps to identify between what has been taught and what the student has learned. Then there is a project where the student applies the concepts, theories, and practical stuff learned during the course to make something new or come up with a discovery/finding.
