IIM Vishakapatnam PhD

The eligibility criteria for the PhD program at the Indian Institute of Management Vishakapatnam are - 

• A master’s degree holder in any discipline with at least 55% of marks in both bachelor’s as well as master’s degrees. 
• A Post-graduate diploma in any discipline with an aggregate of 55% of marks. 
• Individuals having a professional qualification like CA, ICWA, CS, with an aggregate of 50%marks, along with a B.Com Degree with 55% marks
• Those with a 4-year / 8 semesters bachelor’s degree (10+2+4 pattern) with at least 6.5 CGPA or equivalent. 

Reservations 

• Individuals belonging to the reserved categories will get a reservation as per the Central Government list. 

Test Scores

• Individuals also have to qualify for the entrance examination, depending on the specialisation they will be choosing in the PhD program. They need to qualify for the entrance examinations such as JRF- UGC/CSIR, GMAT, GRE or CAT. 

Selection 

• On the basis of the candidate's application and qualifications, the candidates will be shortlisted for the personal interview at Vishakapatnam.

The PhD in management program comprises two phases:

• Course work 
• Thesis

The enrolled individuals in a PhD program are required to complete mandatory coursework during the first year. Further, students must complete 27 credits to be eligible to take the comprehensive exam (which is taken after coursework). The students must maintain at least a 2.75 CGPA during first-year coursework.

IIM Visakhapatnam's curriculum is meant to be broad and rigorous, encompassing all facets of management. It combines core courses, electives, case studies, simulations, and experiential learning experiences. The curriculum is changed regularly to reflect industry developments and expectations. 

The examination format at IIM Visakhapatnam is often a mix of mid-term and end-of-term tests, quizzes, assignments, and class participation. The working professionals with 3-5 years of experience can also earn a doctoral degree through the Online DBA program in three years. The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) is considered equivalent to a PhD program. The Online DBA program offers flexible classes, where individuals are not required to qualify for any entrance examination. On earning the doctoral degree or the ‘Dr’ title, individuals will get diverse job opportunities or may even get senior positions in top organisations or companies.
