Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Dhanbad also known as IIT (ISM) Dhanbad is situated in Dhanbad, Jharkhand, and was established in 1926 and was constituted under the Institute of Technology Act, 1961. The institute offers undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral,dual-degree, and executive programs in multiple specializations under its 18 different departments.

IIT (ISM) Dhanbad became an IIT by a bill passed by the Rajya Sabha on 2nd August 2016, and the Indian School of Mines was established by Lord Irwin on 9th December 1926, whereas IIT Dhanbad's name was changed to Indian School of Mines in 1957, as it started offering programs in applied geophysics, and petroleum engineering in the same year. IIT Dhanbad offers world-class education and international exposure to its students through its various UG, PG, Ph.D., and executive programs. IIT Dhanbad Admission Process
IIT Dhanbad offers various undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs, and candidates interested in enrolling at the IIT (ISM) Dhanbad are required to appear for national-level common entrance exams like JEE, GATE, CAT, JAM, or any other relevant exam. Admission is offered to the candidates on the basis of their marks in these exams and based on their scores, counseling of the candidates is made for the allotment of final seat. The university releases its cut-off list and candidates who fall under the eligibility criteria can move forward with further stages of admission, which include:

IIT Dhanbad also offers a few executive (online) programs and the application process for regular these exams remains the same, which is as follows:
Step 1 Candidates have to visit the official website of the university and begin the admission process by registering themselves on the website.
Step 2 Completion of the registration process will give credentials to the candidates, to gain access to the admission portal.
Step 3 After accessing the admission portal candidates have to submit their common entrance exam score first and if they are under the eligibility criteria only then the further application process will be resumed.
Step 4 When the exam scores are submitted, the admission portal will redirect the candidate to the application form page and the candidate can start filling out the application form with their personnel, professional, and academic details and qualifications.
Step 5 While filling out the application form candidates have to attach the required documents along with the application form.
Step 6 When the application form is completely filled, the candidate can move forward with the fee payment process and submit their application form.
Note: Candidates must make sure all the documents and information they provide are valid and accurate or the application may get rejected from the university end.
